KSO, Khengjoi demands revamping of Chakpikarong-Lonpi road

Considering the significant event of Anglo-Kuki War Centenary Celebration, which will be held at Lonpi village, and the dilapidated PMGSY road connecting Lonpi with the rest of the area, KSO Khengjoi Block demands the contractors concerned to repair the road before the celebration on October 17 .
Information and publicity secretary of KSO, Khengjoi Block, Ngamdou Touthang said that the 16 Km (approximately) long Chakpikarong - Lonpi PMGSY road is in a deplorable condition which serves as the only connectivity of the village where the significant celebration of the Anglo-Kuki War Centenary will be held .
He stated that thousands of Kuki community across the State and aboard will be coming to participate in the celebration, apart from other dignitaries to grace the occasion .
He further said that the historic occasion could be turn unsuccessful if the contractors concerned do not repair the road prior to the event while adding that failure of the event, owing to the deplorable road, would lead to misunderstanding among the people.
"The contractors concerned of Chakpikarong - Lonpi PMGSY road must ensure smooth motorable road considering the significance of the celebration much before the event", the student body leader said .
He cautioned that the contractors concerned would be held responsible if any misunderstanding arise in case of failure on their part .
It appealed the State Government to immediately intervene regarding the matter and take prompt action for a smooth motorable road and the success of the Centenary celebration, in the larger interest of the people.
