Imphal-Moirang stretch to be spruced up

With a view to the Manipur Sangai Festival (Nov 21-30) and the North East Development Summit (Nov 21& 22), Chief Secretary RR Rashmi has written to all concerned administrative Secretaries to beautify all Government offices and structures located along Imphal-Moirang road .
It is being assumed that it is a rare opportunity for Manipur to host a North East Development Summit in coincidence with the Manipur Sangai Festival .
Apart from high ranking officials of the State Government and the Central Government, big industrialists, heads of corporate houses, intellectuals and National media personalities would attend the summit which the State would be hosting for the first time, informed a source .
The State Government has been working to draw attention of big industrialists and investors to the State's rich culture and traditions, tourism potential and rich natural resources which are yet to be exploited .
It was with a view to project a neat and tidy picture of Manipur to the visiting delegates that the Chief Secretary instructed all concerned officials to beautify all Government offices, buildings and their surroundings located along Imphal-Moirang road .
Moreover, the officials concerned have been instructed to repair/renovate the same road, its drains and put up hoardings and pictures which are relevant to the State .
Beautification of all Government offices, buildings and other structures located along Imphal-Moirang road would be done in accordance with a model prescribed by the State Government.
The Chief Secretary further instructed all concerned to complete the beautification work by November 15 .
