Meet demands to know charges

A meeting held today at Manipur Press Club here today demanded to know the charges under which two individuals were arrested and lodged in jail in connection with the disappearance of one Nongmeikappam Ibocha of Singjamei Waikhom Leikai.
A decision to this affect was adopted at a meeting organised by the JAC Against the Missing of N Ibocha and attended by different organisations and youth clubs.
The meeting also agreed to hold another public meeting at Waikhom Leikai Youth Athletic Club ground on June 20.To urge the Government find the whereabouts of N Ibocha was another resolution of the meeting held today.
65 year old Nongmeikappam Ibocha who was once a driver was running a ticket counter of Golden Travels at Wahengbam Leikai Jiri Parking together with his wife Pato.
He remained untraceable after he went out from home on April 10 this year.
On April 14, one Dimapur John called up Pato and demanded Rs five lakhs for release Ibocha.
After negotiation, the ransom amount was agreed at Rs 2.5 lakhs.
However, before the ransom amount could be transferred, two persons reportedly involved in the abduction of Ibocha were apprehended by Singjamei Police.
After the duo were released on bail on medical ground, they were arrested again and imprisoned under NSA.
While the charges under which the two suspects have been imprisoned have not been disclosed, Ibocha remained traceless.
