State level seminar starts

A two-day State level workshop on biodiversity conservation, organised by Volunteers for Scientific Action on Rural Development (VOSARD), Wangjing-Lamding , has kick started at Lamding Model High School from today.
Wangjing Tentha AC MLA Paonam Brojen graced the opening session as chief guest.
Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata (Academic Activities) General Secretary and Manipur University Professor Arun Kumar and VOSARD Secretary and seminar co-ordinator L Manao were the chief guest and president of the function.
In the morning session, KVK Thoubal Subject Matter Specialist Yumnam Bedajit and Prof Arun spoke on the topics, 'Fishes of Manipur and their conservation' and 'Hydrology of small watersheds in Manipur' respectively.
In the afternoon session, KVK Thoubal Farm Manager and Viswa Bharati, West Bengal Research Scholar W Jiten, Thoubal College Chemistry HOD Dr S Lukhoi, Manipur Biodiversity Board Member Dr Kh Shamungou and Manipur University Associate Professor Dr Mohilal presented papers on different topics.
Thoubal College Principal Okram Chaoba was the moderator of the afternoon session.
Presentation of papers by resource persons, recommendation of action plan and holding of discussion session will be main highlights of the concluding day tomorrow.
