Youth festival concludes

The three-day State Level Yuva Kriti and Cultural Festival organised by Nehru yuva Kendra Sangathan, Imphal Zone concluded today at the Palace Compound Training Hall of Directorate of Art and Culture.
The event, which saw over 120 student participants from all the districts of Manipur, was marked by presentation of folk dance and folk songs by the student artistes of different communities.
Top three position winning troupes/artistes in the cultural festival were presented certificates and cash prizes of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively while consolation prize of Rs 1000 each were also handed to the participants as encouragement.
As chief guest of the closing function, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy's vice chairman Dr N Tombi singh expressed confidence that by organising such an event not only would the rich culture and traditions of Manipur will be further enriched but will also provide an opportunity to the young artistes and performers showcase their talents.
He also opined that through regular hosting of cultural events the bond of friendship and camaraderie amongst youths of different communities would be strengthened.
Zonal Director of NYKS, Imphal Zone Jackie Ruivah and Manipur University's NSS Cell Programme Coordinator Dr Rajmani Singh also graced the closing ceremony as the president and guest of honour respectively.
