Free surgical closure of 'Hole in the heart'

Nine more children underwent free operation for closure of various 'holes in the heart' successfully at SKY Hospital from the month of May till September .
A press release of SKY Hospital & Research Centre Pvt Ltd informed that such free surgical closure of hole in the heart is provided under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), National Health Mission, Manipur for children below the age of 18 years who are born with Congenital Heart Disease (Holes and other birth heart defect) .
Dr L Shyamkishore, Chairman & Chief Cardiologist of SKY Hospital stated that majority of these patients will not survive if not diagnosed in early life and treated appropriately .
Free Children's Heart OPD and Echocardiography Services are provided every Thursday at the hospital for early diagnosis of such birth heart defect and appropriate treatment advice.

The beneficiaries who underwent Surgical Closure of hole in the heart at the hospital in the last five months are W Maleshori (17) d/o Tejmani Singh from Takyel Khongban Mayai Leikai; Mangthenlal Guite (11) s/o Chungmiathang from Chalbung village, Kangpokpi district; M Silvia Chanu (2) d/o Oken from Khangabok, Thoubal district; K Lingjelleibi Chanu (9) d/o Tonu from Nagamapal, Imphal West; Kimneihoi (10) d/o Letkholal from Molkan village, Kangpokpi district; Keisham Nirbas (7) s/o Toyota from Khurai, Imphal East; H Punshiba (6) s/o Pramot from Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai, Imphal West; Baby Taniya (5) d/o Tomba Singh from Thoubal Ningombam and Tuleshor (5) s/o Boinao Singh from Thoubal Athokpam .
According to the press release, these children will now grow up as normal person although they will need regular check up for the next few months following the operation.
