Pettigrew Junior High School observes 125th anniversary

The 125th anniversary of Pettigrew Junior High School was held at the school campus today.
Stationery items including books and pens were distributed to the students as part of the celebration.
6th Assam Rifles Major Devadutta also presented a wall clock to the school.
Senior Citizens Forum, Singjamei Mathak Thokchom Leikai, president Leihaothabam Nadiachand Sharma, Youth Welfare Organisation (YWO) president Thokchom Ranbir Singh, local guardian Thokchom Achou Singh, EO zone 1 Imphal West Khumukcham Sucheta and 6th Assam Rifles Major Devadutta attended the ceremony as presidium members.
ZEO Khumukcham Sucheta, while speaking at the occasion, stated that there is a huge significance of organising the foundation day of Pettigrew Junior High School and added that the school is one of the oldest educational institutions in the State.
Lauding the former and present teachers and the community for investing maximum effort in bringing the school to the present status, Sucheta maintained that the event will create a sense of belongingness among the students apart giving them an opportunity to know the history and establishment of the school.
6th Assam Rifles Major Devadutta said that the school has a closely knit relation with the State's history adding that he felt privileged to take part in the foundation day celebration.
Maintaining that educational tours were also been organised in collaboration with the school, he assured to extend all possible help in organising similar events for the students in the future.
