Joint body of Uripok area formed

Seven registered local clubs within IMC ward No 4 Uripok have formed a common body known as United Clubs, IMC Ward No 4, Uripok with the basic aim to redress the grievances and ensure Constitutional rights of the citizens in the area.
Declaring the formation of the club officially today before the media at Manipur Press Club, convener of the United Clubs, Advocate Kh Tarunkumar said that the joint body would give priority to ensure basic fundamental rights of the citizens as guaranteed by the Constitution and time to time declarations of the United Nations.
It would also look into the worsening cultural and ethnic identities of the indigenous people.
The seven constituent clubs of the common body United Clubs are Development Committee Youth Section, Uripok Kabrabam Leikai; Imphal Sporting Club, Khwai Brahmapur; Nagamapal Youth Development Organisation, Nagamapal Paonam Leikai; Progressive Youth Organisation, Uripok Sorbon Thingel; Singjubung Youth Organisation, Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak and Uripok Tourangbam Leikai Welfare Organisation.
The United Clubs would join hands with civil society organisations of the State on major issues, he added.
