Imphal, August 04 2014:
MLA RK Anand with the PHE Department officials embarked on an inspection drive today at Naoriya Pakhang Lakpa Assembly Constituency's Water supply construction sites.
The project, currently ongoing at Langthabal Makha Phuramakhong and Konjenbam Leikai, with other schemes yet to undertake, would provide drinking water to atleast 80 per cent of the population, RK Anand told reporters.
It is his dream, Anand added, to provide enough drinking water to the population of the Constituency.
The project, executed under the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources, will provide drinking water to Mongshanggei, Langthabal, Ningombam and Mekola areas.
With only fencing, pipelines and water pumps yet to set, these projects are to provide nearly 2.3 million gallons of drinking water daily.
A pond, which is capable to provide 1.80 lakh litres has also been dug.
RK Anand further assured that the project would be executed at the earliest.
This would, he added, relieve the people from unwanted expenses on water.
The MLA also scrutinized the on going construction of retaining wall at Waishel Maril.
He also handed over funds to three local youth clubs from his Local Area Development Fund for the development of the area.
