Kangpokpi, April 04 2023:
Villagers of Kharam Thadoi, Kharam Vaiphei, Nakhujeng and Bethel village today refuted the claim of Chairman of Konshakhul village that the 4 villages belong to Konshakhul.
Speaking in this regard, Village Secretary of Kharam Thadoi village, T Achung Kom called it unfortunate that the four villages which allegedly came into existence in the 17th century and which started paying Hill House Tax since 1901-1902 have reportedly been falsely accused of being inhabited by immigrants who came from Burma in 1950 .
At this juncture, it is worth noting that the Chairman of Konshakhul Village, Adam had sent written statements to the Manipur Governor, Chief Minister, DC and SP of Kangpokpi and other organisations claiming that 21 villages around Konshakhul belong to the village on March 9 .

Expressing strong opposition to the claim, Achung Kom claimed that Kharam Thadoi village is a village that belongs to one of the seven clans of "Chingngu Maichou Taret" and deemed it "surprising" that the said village has been claimed to be part of Konshakhul.
Maintaining that Kharam Thadoi, Kharam Vaiphei along with Nakhujeng and Bethel village have existed for ages, he also denied the accusation of Konshakhul village, which placed blame on these four villages for carrying out poppy plantation and for polluting the water of Singda dam.
Achung Kom urged Konshakhul to stop spreading false news and warned of legal action otherwise.
