Life Line Trust Centre, Naoremthong Laishram Leirak, Imphal West and Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons have jointly organised 'public display of works of arts' at Naoremthong Laishram Leirak Community Hall today.
During the programme, Secretary of the Life Line Trust Centre, Lourembam Linthoingamba said that self help groups (SHGs) are formed with an objective not only to develop work habits among women of the society but also to support their families by earning income without depending on others.
The display of works of arts is organised to showcase the products made by them in an attempt to bring development of the society, and also to strengthen the economy of the State, he added.
The programme that displayed women garments, bamboo baskets, dolls etc produced by 15 SHGs, was attended by L Biren Singh, Chief Executive Officer Manipur Khadi and Village Industries Board, Lamphelpat; Ph Pakchao Singh, Social Worker and Chief Advisor of the Life Line Trust Centre; S Birendra Singh, Functional Manager (i/c) Handicrafts, Commerce and Industries, Govt of Manipur; and K Joychandra Singh, Director (i/c) Institute of Co-operative Management.
