Tribal bodies accuse AR of torturing civilians

Tribal organisations have accused the Assam Rifles of torturing three civilians and then handed them to police branding the arrested civilians as cadres of NSCN-K .
Zeliangrong Students Union, Manipur (ZSUM), All Tribal Students Union, Manipur (ATSUM) and Naga Women Union (NWU), Zeliangrong Students Union, Khoupum Area (ZSUKA) and Life Watch while addressing the media here alleged that on the night of October 17, personnel of 10 Assam Rifles picked up Dikoilung Dangmei (34), s/o late Kagaoloi Dangmei of Namkaolong Part-2, Katuangai Kamei (36), s/o late Nangailung Kamei of Thanagong village and Muidaimei Pamei (30), s/o late Jianthaongampou Pamei of Namkaolong village were picked up and assaulted them.
They were picked up from Noney bazar.
According to these civil organisations, the three civilians after the arrest were forced to signed by the Assam Rifles that they are underground cadres.
These civilians were also handed some bullets each by the Assam Rifles personnel to prove that they are underground cadres.
