Imphal, October 20 2013:
In a rare case of its kind, a horse ran after and bit a 51 year old woman at around 11.30 am at New Checkon.
It is suspected that the horse became wild after it was bitten by a mad dog (infected by rabies) .
Kshetrimayum (O) Bina (51) w/o Biren of New Checkon Leishemba Leirak was riding a two-wheeler (Pleasure) when the horse suddenly ran after and bit her.
Talking to The Sangai Express, Ksh Bina said that she was returning home after purchasing some household articles from New Checkon market when the horse suddenly ran after her two-wheeler and bit her on the right buttock.
Though the bite did not tear any flesh it left deep teeth marks leading to profuse bleeding.
On seeing the 'amazing scene', people in the neighbourhood rushed in following which the rogue horse galloped off towards New Checkon Traffic Point.
"The mouth of the horse was already red with blood before it bit me.
Possibly the horse had bitten some animals", Bina said.
Later Bina was administered a drug purchased from the Dog Care Centre, Konung Mamang.
The horse might have gone wild after it was bitten by a dog infected with rabies, conveyed Bina as stated by the shopkeeper of the Dog Care Centre.
