Ahead of State Government's scheduled SDO/BDO office inauguration at Kangvai on March 22, Khousabung Sub-Division Demand Committee has announced a 24-hour total bandh in Churachandpur district and Tiddim road with effect from the midnight of March 21 .
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club, committee spokesperson Ng Sang Gangte urged the people not to attend the inauguration function.

Saying that the bandh would be strictly enforced in Churachandpur district and Tiddim road, Ng Sang Gangte said that emergency services would however be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
He further said that the committee has been urging the Government to create Khousabung sub-division ever since the State Cabinet decided to change the name of Thangting sub-division to Kangvai sub-division on February 10 .
Strongly condemning the State Government for not responding positively to the people's demand, the spokesperson said that the committee would oppose the Government order issued on March 8 and 19 regarding inauguration of SDO/BDO office at Kangvai on March 22 .

He also urged all sections of the society to extend their maximum cooperation and support to the people's movement.
It may be mentioned that people of Khousabung have been staging agitations against the Stateb Government's decision to create a new sub-division at Kangvai.
