Treasury office opened, bank branch in pipeline

While inaugurating a sub-Treasury office at Wangoi, Imphal West district today, Chief Minister O Ibobi has announced that a new SBI branch would be opened at Wangoi.
Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister O Ibobi who is also in charge of Finance Department remarked that one dream of late Chief Minister W Nipamacha has been realised today with the opening of the sub-Treasury office.
The newly opened sub-Treasury office would provide facilities for drawing salaries and pension for all the offices whose financial transactions are handled by 16 Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) .
The new office would also do away with the problems arising out of non-availability of non judicial stamps.
He also appealed to the gathering to take care of the office as their own property.
Treasury and Accounts Director Th Kirankumar said that Manipur has now 17 Treasury offices counting the sub-Treasury office opened today.
He added that the Wangoi sub-Treasury office is a computerised one like others.
The function was presided by Works Minister Kh Ratankumar while MLAs Oinam Lukhoi.
RK Anand and K Shyam were seated on the dais as guests of honour.
During the function, the Chief Minister handed over pension payment orders to two pensioners.
