Girls escape from CWC Home

A fourteen year old married girl and a seven year old minor girl have escaped from Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Home run by one Anie Mangsatabam at Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai on September 9 .
Informing this to media persons at Meira Paibi Apunba Nupi Lup (MPANL) at Kwakeithel Nganappi Khong Mapal here today, its Secretary Soraisham Shantileima said, Nonthombam Jayalaxmi Devi (14) d/o N (O) Lilapati Devi of Thoudababok Leikai, Imphal West was married to Moirangthem Mona Singh alias Thoi (16) s/o M Bijen Singh alias Sanatomba of Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai on May 13, 2013 at his residence alone, as the girl's parent were against it, after being eloped on April 17 .
After the marriage, Mona Singh was sent to Bangalore on May 18 for further studies (Civil Engineering).
Jayalaxmi was admitted at Psychiatric Ward of RIMS on July 18 by her in-laws charging that she has gone mad.
However, she was normal and there was no symptoms of psychiatric patient, Shantileima stated.
She continued that the said girl was handed over to the CWC Home run by Anie Mangsatabam at Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai on August 4 last by her father-in-law M Bijen Singh; Manigun, Advocate; N Manglembi Devi (her aunt) along with a woman police Misao and one unknown person, telling her that she will stay there for only 5 days and not coming to take her back after the 5 days.
"Jayalaxmi escaped from the CWC Home with one minor girl reading in Class-I from Sekmai on September 9 as they were reportedly tortured mentally and physically.
She was made to cook meal for the entire 40 occupants of the Home, sweep the premises including toilet and drainage.
She was also made to wash dirty clothes and clean the shits of the children." After the escape, the two girls met Advocate Th Premlata Devi of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai on the way and stayed at a house nearby to the later's house.
Then on September 10, the minor girl was taken by Premlata saying that she will be handed over to a suitable Home, and Jayalaxmi was handed over to MPANL Head Office at Kwakeithel, the Secretary went on to say.
She added, Jayalaxmi will be handed over to police by tomorrow morning, and appealed to take up necessary legal action against the accused person M Bijen Singh at the earliest under the Juvenile Act 1986 in the interest of public in order to save the life of the victim girls.
