Lamka, May 11 2012:
Not many of the parents in the council's topper list would be as contented as Niangthianmawi's, who was placed in the 3rd position in the Arts stream.
Both her parents have enrolled themselves as labourers with the BRTF to finance their children who loves to study.
She stays with an Uncle's family here to pursue what she loves, away from the warmth of her parents from her tender years.
Even as she shares her thoughts with The Sangai Express it is more than visible that she misses her parents who were most likely at work mending the roads, even as she speaks.
'I have worked hard for this and I could only expect it,' she said adding she intends not to settle until she clears the elite India Civil Services.
She loves political science.
Hence she will be offering the subject in her degree which she intends to pursue at Hyderabad along with her cousins.

The youngest of three siblings, she left her village, Sumtuk a tiny hamlet along the Tipaimukh road about 130 kms from here when she was class VI.
Her parents have now lived in Thanlon on being engaged as manual labourers with the BRTF in search of a steady income, following her brother's enrollment in an engineering college.
Now that she could sustain the topper position even in the board exams, her parents were willing to even sweat more, she said, to see her and her brother chase their dreams.
