Training programme on 'Post harvest management of horticulture crops & marketing thereof' held at Sorbung, Senapati

Manipur Small Farmers' Agri-Business Consortium and the Green Hills Society, Senapati have jointly organised a "Training programme on post harvest management of horticulture crops and marketing thereof" under the aegis of National Institute of Agriculture Marketing (NIAM), Jaipur at Green Hills Model Farm, Sorbung Village, Senapati district.
The opening session of the training programme was held in the presence of MS Khaidem, Project Coordinator, Manipur Small Farmers' Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC), Th Baleshwor Singh, retd.Colonel, Managing Director, Machelva Agro Machineries & Services, Imphal and N Shanta Singh, chief executive officer, Nahakpam Foods & Beverages, Imphal as the presidium members.
Over 30 farmers from the neighbouring villages of the region also took part in the programme.
Dr L Jeebit Singh, Asst Project Officer, MOMA, Department of Horticulture & SC, Manipur spoke on the topic, "Post Harvest Management of Horticultural Crops & Marketing Thereof," N Tomba Singh, Subject Matter Specialist (Agro), KVK, Thoubal Dist on "Intercropping of maize with Pulses/Oilseeds for doubling farmers income," John Basho, Editor, Herald Today on "Concept of eradicating rural poverty through farming sectors" and N Joyson Tao, MA-DS, IIT, Guwahati, president, Green Hills Society, Senapati on "Problems & prospects of farming in the hills" as the resource persons of the programme.
