Imphal, July 28 2011:
General secretary of KLO/KLA Timothy Kuki has clarified that the outfit has no connection with the kidnapping of three labourers engaged in the construction of dam at Tamengkhong Itok along Chandrakhong.
Talking to mediapersons in this connection at Saikul today, Timothy asserted that it is a common knowledge to all under the control of which Kuki UG group the Bongbal Khullen area where the dam is being constructed falls.
Dragging the name of KLO/KLA is an attempt on the part of the kidnappers to tarnish the image of the outfit.
So the allegation of KLO/KLA kidnapping the three labourers is complete hogwash.
All the cadres of KLO/KLA are staying in the Gamnom camp in compliance with the ground rules of Suspension of Operation, Timothy added.
Timothy further said that the conduct of KNF in detaining one Paokhohou Khongsai s/o Lhunthang Khongsai, a civilian from Seijang village, after being summoned to Sapermeina by its finance secretary Lenpu Kipgen and later handed over to the AR post at Nongdam claiming him to be a KLA cadre and then forcing him to admit at gun-point that all illegal activities that have been carried out by KNF are committed by KLO was devoid of any revolutionary principle.
Such conduct of KNF deserves strong condemnation.
Paokhohou Khongsai is an innocent, and he has no connection with KLO/KLA, Timothy said, while appealing to the people to contact him on his mobile phone no.9402880898 if any of the cadres of KLO/KLA were indulging in any illegal activities.
