The State Govt will be bringing out a State Tourism Policy within a short period to promote and develop Tourism industry in the State, said Tourism Minister Konthoujam Gobindas.
Speaking as the chief guest at the "World Tourism Day" observation at Hotel Imphal, Tourism Minister Gobindas urged the people to extend cooperation and help in promoting Tourism in the State and further added that the State Government on its part will do everything on its part to attract tourist to State developing the four-ism infrastructure in the State.
In forming that the State Home Department and the Tourism Department will soon be constituting a coordinating committee to bring about some changes in the Restricted Are Permit (RAP) so that International tourist could easily come to the State, Govindas said that security forces are presently occupying five tourist homes in the State with the rent dues running to about Rs 31 lakhs.
He also said that the matter had been intimated to the State Home Dept.
Tourism secretary C Kipgen attended the function as the president.
