Imphal, March 10 2017:
Indian Army paid rich tribute to martyr Major L Rambo Singh, who laid down his life while performing operational duties in extremely harsh climate and rough mountainous terrain of Eastern Ladakh on March 9.
The officer was leading a convoy of vehicles from Tangtse to Karu in inhospitable terrain and treacherous road conditions.
Major L Rambo Singh was given guard of honour under the aegis of Trishul Divison.
Major L Rambo Singh was from Khoyathang Bazar, Thangmeiband, Imphal.
After the initial training at Officers Academy, Chennai, late Mjor L Rambo Singh was commissioned on September 2009 and joined the Indian Army.
Major L Rambo Singh was a dedicated and hardworking officer.
He was an asset to the Indian Army and Nation.
He shall forever be fondly remembered by all, said a statement issued by PIb(D), Imphal.
He is survived by his wife Surmala Chanu and three-year old son Master Neo Lairenlakpam.
