Training programme on horticulture held

A farmers' training programme on horticulture and its productivity was opened on September 1 at Khuman Lampak Youth Hostel.
The four-day long training programme is being jointly organised by the Medziphema Nagalan and the Educated Farmers' Association under the sponsorship of the Central Institute of Horticulture, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
Altogether 80 selected farmers from Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Imphal West are participating in the training programme.
Talking at the training programme today, Horticulture subject matter specialist of KVK Imphal East Dr M Dinachandra explained about density planting on important fruit crops.
CAU Associate Professor Dr RK Dilip also delivered a lecture on the topic 'Canopy management of important fruit crops' .
