A passenger bus has been reportedly looted by armed miscreants along the National Highway (NH) 39 in the wee hours of today while another passenger bus has been allegedly attacked by unknown miscreants in the wee hours of Sunday along the same route.
According to reports, a Rajdhani Express, an inter-state passenger bus bearing registration number MNO1-1635 plying between Manipur and Guwahati was reportedly waylaid by unknown armed miscreants and looted at gun point at half mile under Chumukedima police station, Dimapur at around 3 am.
today as it was heading for Manipur.
Sources from one of the bus passengers revealed that three unknown armed miscreants, possessing two AK-rifles and a carbine stopped the bus in the middle of the road and allegedly forced all the bus passengers, including the driver, down from the bus on gun point.
Further, the sources said that the armed persons asked the bus crew members to collect a sum of Rs.5000/ from the passengers.
However, concerned over the safety of the passengers, the sources informed that the crew volunteered to pay the sum following which the armed persons took all the money of the crew, a sum of 9,700 rupees.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident another inter-state was reportedly attacked by unknown persons with stones at Tadubi area, Senapati district in the wee hours of Sunday.
The front wind shield of the bus, Mega Tour and Travels with registration number MNO1-1075, has been reportedly damaged completely due to the attack, said the reports.
