Imphal, March 02 2009:
Atleast three cadres belonging to the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) and People�s United Liberation Front (PULF) have been arrested by the Manipur's Thoubal police commandos over the last two days.
A press statement by Clay Khongsai, IPS and superintendent of Thoubal district police informed that the district police commandos on Sunday night at about 7:30 arrested two cadres of the KCP along with ammunitions from Thoubal Haokha area during frisking and checking.
The cadres were identified as Nameirakpam Boby Singh, 25, s/o N.Bijoy Singh of Chajing Konjeng Leikai and Tonjam Arjun Singh, 25, s/o T.Bhubon Singh of Lilong Chajing Pukhri Achouba Mapal, both of Thoubal district.
A total of thirteen numbers of 7.65 mm ammunitions were recovered from their possession, the statement added.
The SP also informed that a cadre of PULF was arrested early Monday morning at about 5:30 during an operation at Langathel area in Thoubal district.
The cadre has been identified as Md.Abdul Gafar alias Tondonba, 28, s/o Md.Ramijuddin of Kshetrigao Makha Leikai.
