The Kuki Students' Organization, (KSO), Chandel today lifted the ban on movement of heavy vehicles along the Imphal - Moreh road for 15 days.
Informing this to media persons, Doumang Haokip, president, KSO, Chandel said the ban imposed on movement of heavy vehicles along Imphal - Moreh road has been lifted for 15 days.
The decision to this effect was taken following a request from the Chamber of Commerce and Trade to allow transportation of perishable goods stranded at godowns, the president added.
However all heavy vehicles can transport goods only at half its respective capacity, Haokip said and added that prohibition on movement of fully loaded heavy vehicles along the route will remain in force.
While appealing all the traders and vehicles owners to strictly adhere to the conditions, the KSO president urged the authority concerned to expedite the repair works of the said road.
He further maintained that the student body will closely monitor the repair work and will enforce total bandh anytime it deems necessary.
