Enraged folks block Imphal-Moreh road

The Thoubal Kiyam Siphai section of Imphal-Moreh highway was closed down by angry locals over the death of a 41 year old man today.
Sinam Tomboi, 41, s/o Sinam Kulla of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Laithagol met with a road accident on the night of October 18 while returning home after a dinner party at his friend's (Ranjit) place at Waithou, the JAC formed against the death of Tomboi convenor told media persons today.
The news of the accident was told to Ranjit over phone by a QRT at Thoubal Kiyam Tangjeng.
Tomboi was admitted to Shija Hospital with no visible sign of injuries on his body.
He was, however, reportedly admitted with broken rib cages and alleged boot marks on his body.
Tomboi breathed his last at Shija Hospital in the morning today.
Enraged locals and family members of the deceased while demanding the QRT to spell out the real cause the death, closed down the Thoubal Kiyam Siphai section of the Imphal-Moreh Highway till late evening today.
MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Keisham Meghachandra who visited the protest area met the JAC members at the office of the Thoubal SP.
The JAC has refused to claim Tomboi's body until the cause of the death and the person responsible are produced before the people.
The road block will continue, said the enraged people.
Tomboi is survived by a wife and three daughters.
