AMSU draws attention

All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has said that academic atmosphere and normal functioning of Biramangol College, Sawombung has been largely disturbed due to the presence of groupism and intense lobbying regarding election of the secretary of the college governing council.
In a statement, AMSU said that it has come to the notice of the student's body that the secretary election could not be held till date due to political intervention.
Due to this standoff, the Principal's office remains locked and the students are facing inconvenience in form submissions for examinations and scholarships and taking out marksheets by passed out students, the statement said and added that teachers are also unable to encash their salary due to this problem.
AMSU urged the Government to intervene into the matter considering the academic career of around 3000 students of the college.
It also appealed to the local clubs and meira paibee bodies to extend support to AMSU.
