'Relationships of hills, valley started waning since Puya Mei Thaba'

The age-old relationships between hills and valley started waning since the burning of Puyas, stated Puya Mei Thakhibagi Apunba Ningsing Lup convener Chandramani Khumancha on Wednesday.
Chandramani said this during a press meet held in connection with the observation of Puya Mei Thaba at the head office of All Club Organisation and Association Meira Paibi Lup (ACOAM-Lup), Lamphelpat.
Chandramani said that the 283rd anniversary of the Puya Mei Thaba of 1732 will be observed for one month.
ACOAM Lup Kangleipak, Apokpa Marup, Manipur Pandit Loisang, Kangla Mei, CLK, KIL and Panthoibi Sindam Sanglen will jointly organize the month-long observance.
The month has been known as Puwarigi Amamba Numit and people have been observing it by wearing black badges.
Chandramani further said that the observation has already kick-started from October 14 and the main event will be held on October 29 at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium.
Important events will also be held on November 1 at YAC Yurembam, on November 4 at Cachar Jiribon, on November 7 at Lamyanba Sanglen and on November 11 at Leimayol Art Centre.
Painting competition, debating competition and dramas based on Nongkhrang Iruppa will also be held in connection with the observation, said Chandramani and appealed to all to attend the important event of the state.
Chandramani also appealed to underground group KPLF/A to suspend the economic blockade along the National Highways called by the party considering the upcoming Kut and Ningol Chakouba festivals.
