Appoint FAA, SPIO: CIC

The State Chief Information Commissioner has directed the Secretary to the Chief Minister to designate suitable officers as First Appellate Authority (FAA) and SPIO of the Chief Minister's Secretariat within 10 days, sources informed.
A directive issued by State Chief Information Commissioner Th Ibobi Singh said that the office of the Chief Minister is a public authority within the definition of Under Section 2 (h) of the RTI Act 2005 and designation of FAA and SPIO in all public authority is mandatory under the Act.
The State Chief Information Commission issued the directive on July 23 this year subsequent upon an RTI application fried by one S Surbala Devi to the SPIO, Chief Minister's Secretariat on February 7 this year seeking information on eight points related to her complaint filed to the Chief Minister on June 28 last year and OSD, Anti-Corruption Cell, CM's Secretariat on October 27 last year.
Even though 10 days had already passed since the written directive was issued, there is no report about designation of any officers as FAA or SPIO of CM's Secretariat till date, the sources said.
