Imphal, December 10 2014:
The Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights commemorated the International Human Rights Day with the theme "Human Rights 365" .
Towards this goal, the NPMHR reaffirmed its commitment to make human rights real for all, according to a statement.
While recognizing the challenges and crises that the Naga people face toward the full realisation of their human rights, the NPMHR once again committed itself to democratic values which encompasses universal human rights principles and indigenous world view.
It is these values that nourish the people and keep them strong through the difficult journey as a people who have withstood every kind of human rights violations.
"Our reflection and introspection as we strive to fulfil our obligations as a human rights organisation reaffirms our commitment to justice that is fair and equitable.
"We pledge to work with humility and spirit of volunteerism while remaining accountable to the principles and values of human rights," it said.
The NPMHR also appealed to the Naga society to uphold these values in partnering with the global community towards realization of human rights.
