Shital death case: Angry locals throng Heirok police station

Fumed as the death of Sapam Shital remains unsolved, locals thronged Heirok police station today.
Sapam Shital, 19, son of Sapam Khomdon of Salungpham Mayai Leikai was found dead at around 8.30 pm of March 1 at Ipukom, bordering Salungpham and Heirok.
The JAC formed in connection with the death had raised suspicion that he might have been beaten to death.
Demanding police to crack the case at the earliest, angry locals had thronged the Heirok police station and representatives of the JAC later had a meeting with the Additional SP and officials of Heirok PS.
During the meeting, the JAC was assured that police would solve the case within three days, said its members.
Convenor of the JAC Against The Brutal Killing of Sapam Shital Singh, Ng Narayan Singh, after the meeting, told media persons that the JAC presented its case and suspicion to the police regarding the case.
The police are in custody of Shital's mobile phone and they have assured that they will crack the case within three days, he added asserting that the JAC along with people and CSOs will be launching stringent agitation if they fail to solve the case within the stipulated time.
The JAC and the family members will not claim the body until the case is solved, he added.
It may be mentioned that Shital had gone out on his Pulsar bike at around 4 pm of March 1 and his lifeless body was found at around 8.30 pm the same day at Ipukom, under Heirok PS .
