Some of the well known singers, composers, music directors of Manipur have expressed their despair at the sudden demise of 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson.
While sharing their sadness over the sad news with Newmai News Network (NNN) on Saturday, one of the first singers of western songs in Manipur, L.Sendo said that he had no suitable words to express his sadness on hearing that the King of pop had died.
He said that Michael Jackson was a star who has influenced music all over the world.
He pointed out that even the Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray had commented, How many people can dance like that? You'll break your neck.
He said that music lovers in Manipur are saddened by the death of Michael Jackson and prays that the departed soul rest in peace.
Momocha Laishram, former 'Cannibal' star and a well known drummer of Manipur said that he was shocked when he learnt that Michael Jackson was dead.
He expressed sadness that one of the brightest stars of the music world was gone forever.
Speaking to one of the finest music directors of the state, Jianngam Kamei said that he was deeply shocked and hurt on hearing the news about the untimely death of Michael Jackson, a genius who was a singer, composer and producer.
He said that a good man was lost who propagated peace to the world, helped the poor and brought the black and white people together.
The drummer of the band Phoenix, Paras said that it was shocking and hard to believe that Michael Jackson was dead.
He was a gifted musician who was totally different from others, he said.
"We think of him as a god of music who was too young to die", said Paras.
Vivek, the lead singer of the band Phoenix said that no one was happy with the loss of an incredible and great singer.
He was also grateful to Michael Jackson for the masterpieces he has left for us and the generation to come.
Singer and composer, Uttam said that the death of Michael Jackson was a loss for everyone and though 'we cannot raise him from death he would be alive in our hearts'.
Alvina Gonson, one of the well known female singers of western songs said that the learning the bad news about Michael Jackson was unbearable and filled her with sadness.
