Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan concludes

The State level observation of Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan (National Panchayat Day) at Shantipur Kanglatongbi concluded today at Vijayynagar community hall, Kanglatongbi.
The week long observation was held under the aegis of Kanglatongbi Gram Panchayat and All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (CC) .
A special Gram Sabha was also organised as part of the observation today.
The sabha began with the lighting of candles and paying of floral tributes to the Khongjom martyrs.
Prizes were also distributed to the winners of a written quiz competition that was held on April 16 at Froebel English School, Kanglatongbi as part of the observation.
The Kanglatongbi Gram Panchayat also awarded KGP certificate of honour to the All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union, Kanglatongbi unit and other local organizations who took active part in the observation.
Hemant Poudyal of Froebel English School, Kanglatongbi secured first position in the written quiz competition while Suman Thapa of the same school and Rohan Dhungel of Rose English High School secured second position.
In the meantime, the 5th Kirat Day was observed at the premises of Roses English School, Kanglatongbi today.
All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union general secretary LB Adhikari said Manipureli Kirat Singh was established with the objective to preserve the culture and tradition of Rai and Limbu communities.
The observance was attended by Kh Devendro Singh, MLA, Sekmai AC as chief guest.
Traditional Rai and Limbu dances marked the day.
