Ultimatum served

Demanding the safe release of Baby Alice Kamei, a class IX student of Grace Reach Academy, Hiyanglam, Thoubal district�who went missing since March 10 from her school hostel, several Zeliangrong bodies have lined up various forms of agitation if the missing girl is not traced by March 25 .
This was intimated to the Deputy Chief Minister in a memorandum following resolutions adopted at a joint meeting of All Zeliangrong Students' Union (AMN), ZYF (AMN)and Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur with villagers of Chingphu held at Majorkhul Community Hall on March 19 .
Urging the State Government and an armed outfit which is allegedly responsible for the missing of the girl to secure the safe release on or before March 25, series of agitation would be launched in Zeliangrong areas, the Zeliangrong bodies warned.
Among the courses of agitation included sit-in protest, indefinite general strike from midnight of March 27 in Zeliangrong inhabited areas including NHs 2 and 37, according to an ultimatum served to the Govt by the Zeliangrong bodies.
Besides, the joint meeting also resolved to launch national and international campaign against the Govt for its alleged hand-in-glove with an armed outfit.
It also decided to launch a campaign against the concerned armed group for its alleged conduct against international human rights laws.
The meeting also demanded impartial and thorough investigation on Grace Reach Academy and hostel by the Government and made the report public by March 25 .
Further, urging the Grace Reach Academy authority to take necessary measures in tracing its missing student by the specified deadline, the Zeliangrong bodies also decided to close the school for an indefinite period until the girl is found.
