Cryptology seminar held

A two-day national seminar on 'Cryptology' organised by Department of Mathematics, DM college of Science in collaboration with Department of Mathematics, Manipur University was held under the sponsorship of UGC commenced from today at DMC Science hall.
The seminar was inaugurated by Dean, School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MU) Prof RK Gartia as the chief guest while DMC Sc Principal Dr P Ranabir Singh graced the occasion as the functional president.
Dr Ng ibohal Singh, Prof KS Bhamra and Prof RK Tarachand Singh of MU's Dept of Mathematics also attended the event as the guests of honour.
speaking at the occasion, DMC Science's Mathematics Department lecturer Kumam Anthony stated that the seminar is being held in view of only a few number of students pursuing mathematics subject in the higher stage of study as well as in research.
He expressed hope that the seminar on Cryptology would encourage more the students to opt for mathematics studies.
During the technical session, IIT, Kharagpur's Prof Dipanwita Roy choudhury deliberated on 'Design and Analysis of Symmetric Cryptography' and MU's Prof M Ranjit Singh on 'Three Classical results on Number Theory' .
Dr Santa Laishram of ISI, new Delhi and Dept of Maths, CI College's Dr Salam Samarendra Singh took part as contributor talkers.
