Imphal, January 04 2021:
A state-of-the-art VVIP guest house which would have Presidential and Prime Ministerial suites would come up at Imphal within the next three years.
Notably, Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for an ultra modern VVIP guest house which would be constructed at the erstwhile High Court complex when he visited the State recently.
The guest house would be equipped with all the facilities fit for hosting the country's President and the Prime Minister as and when they visit Manipur.
Sources informed that 2.9 acres of land have been earmarked for the VVIP guest house.

The area has been acquired from GAD (erstwhile High Court complex) and Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC).
The portion acquired from IMC has been already transferred to the PWD.
An area of the same size would be allotted to IMC at another place.
The portion acquired from GAD is also likely to be transferred to the PWD soon, said the sources.
The VVIP guest house would comprise of two buildings (G+4 and G+5) and work order for its constructed has been allotted to M/S Avantika.
M/S Avantika has been instructed to start site clearance work by dismantling existing structures within the next couple of days, informed the sources.
It is estimated that the guest house would cost around Rs 275 crore and a target has been already set to complete the construction work within three years.
It has been agreed to take the necessary amount of Rs 275 crore from Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) as loan.
The loan process is also almost complete except for signing the agreement, said the sources.
The architectural design of the VIP guest house was outsourced but the authorities want certain modifications in the design.
As such, the design firm may be re-analysed and modified a little, according to the sources.
Apart from Presidential suite and Prime Ministerial suite, the VVIP guest house would have separate suites for Union Ministers.
Notably, Union Ministers and other VVIPs coming from the Centre are often provided accommodation in the Raj Bhavan in the absence of a proper guest house fit for hosting these VVIPs.
