Imphal, June 02:
Komrem Students' Union (KSU) has decried the threats of KNF (MC) issued against the villagers of Kangathei not to hold sit-in-protest in the village in connection with assault of five innocent villagers on May 31 at Tuibiyang, which is located just 1 km away from the camp of 6 Jat B company station at Sengpanghar village.
In a statement, information and publicity secretary of KSU S Elvis said that as the hapless villagers could not return the force of the KNF (MC), they opted for a democratic form of agitation showing the world that they are against torture and intimidation.
Stating that KSU would not be bogged down by such threats, Elvis said, 'we will stand by our people come what may and will continue to fight for our rights and just cause'.
It would be better for KNF (MC) to admit their fault and apologise to the Komrem people in the interest of peaceful co-existence, it cautioned.
