Alice JAC threatens agitation

JAC formed in connection with the death of NS Alice has threatened to launch different forms of agitation if the the Government fails to present an authentic account on the incident within five days.
Speaking at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, JAC secretary Sh Krishnamani said that NS Alice (40) of Happyland, Senapati district and Pebam Ranjit of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai have been married for four years.
The couple were residing in a rented house in Chingmeirong, he said and added that Alice went out with Ranjit on July 28 before she was found hung to death at New Secretariat building at Mantripukhri on July 29 .
Even as Ranjit inforned Alice's maternal family about her missing, Heingang Police informed the family about recovery of Alice's body from near New Secretariat building at around 11 am.
The secretary said that the incident was suspicious as Alice's feet was found touching the ground.
Moreover, New Secretarit building area at Mantripukhri is being heavily guarded by security personnel, he added.
Maintaining that Alice's body would not be claimed until an authentic report on the her death is brought out, the secretary threatened to launch different forms of intense agitations if the demand is not fulfilled within five days.
Alice was Ranjit's fourth wife, the secretary said while adding that Alice's uncle NS Ngareishang had filed an FIR at Heingang Police Station against Ranjit who is currently lodged in police custody.
