Lab for molecular diagnosis inaugurated at RIMS

A DBT healthcare laboratory for molecular diagnosis was inaugurated today in RIMS' Microbiology department, a statement issued by RIMS media adviser informed.
Many changes have taken place in the department since it became a separate department on April 2, 1979 .
21 modern machinaries have been installed in the department which are not still available in most of the medical colleges in eastern India.
The latest lab facility would benefit HIV infected babies, Hepatitis C, TB patients and many others, the statement reported Prof Ng Brajachand, HoD Microbiology as saying.
Prof Sekharjit, Director of RIMS, Dr Pawan Sharma, Sr Consultant, New Delhi and Dr Gourangi Maitra, representative of the Nodal Cell, Tezpur were also present besides the presence of invitees, professors and students of RIMS.
