Imphal, July 18 2011:
All Tribal Disables' Union Manipur (ATDUM) has today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary requesting him to take up necessary action against the District Development Officers/Chief Executive Officers of Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) of Ukhrul, Chandel, Tamenglong, Kangpokpi and Senapati for non releasing of monthly salary for the month of April 2011 to the Government employees serving under these ADCs.
The memorandum said that as directed by the State Finance Department, the employees had opened their bank accounts in different banks to facilitate direct transfer of their salary to their respective bank accounts.
However, it further said, the CEOs have not released the salary of the employees for the month of April yet even though the State Government had already sanctioned the amount.
ATDUM expressed apprehension that the CEOs might be planning to distribute salary in cash for the month of April as well so that they can deduct their share as was previously done for the months of January, February and March, it alleged.
It also urged the CS to give posting of physically challenged people at their native villages as they face inconvenience in reaching interior and far away places.
