Imphal, April 18 2019:
The NPF has alleged that BJP lodged written complaint to the ECI and police in the name of innocent Naga people to hold extensive repoll in Naga inhabited areas.
Speaking to media persons at their Dewlahlane office this evening, NPF candidate Dr Lorho S Pfoze's election agent Gaidon Kamei said that BJP candidate Benjamin Mate's election agent Lucky Riha purportedly lodged a complaint to the DGP on April 12.The complaint said that NSCN-IM threatened voters to vote for the NPF candidate and appealed to take up an FIR and initiate due process for repoll, Gaidon claimed.
However, after the complaint came to the notice of Luckyson Kashung of Riha village, it has been established that the complaint was concocted by BJP deliberately.
Gaidon Kamei said that Luckyson Kamei is not a BJP member and he did serve as BJP's polling agent in the election held on April 11.NPF has no objection to BJP's electioneering and NPF would accept people's mandate.
But BJP's unethical practices as if they were quite desperate and dejected are highly condemnable, he said.
Today too, a team of police from Kasom Khullen police station came to Leihaoram and asked the village chief if they were threatened by NSCN-IM is true, Gaidon added.
Luckyson Kashung who also present at the press meet said that he got hold of a copy of the complaint lodged to the DGP on April 12 in his name.
"Immediately it was realised that the complaint was forged one.
Because my name is Luckyson Kashung while the complainant's name in the complaint lodged to the DGP is written as Lucky Riha", Luckyson Kashung said.
Moreover, the complaint mention Riha as a village within Chingai AC of Ukhrul district but the village is located within Phungyar AC, he said.
As such, a complaint has been lodged to the DGP today not to pursue the first complaint lodged in the name of Lucky Riha.
The DGP has been appealed to take up necessary action against the imposter complainant, he added.
