Lamka, August 02 2011:
The Churachandpur District Students' Union (CDSU) has today contested the Government move to fix 50 percent cut-off marks for Schedule Tribes to appear in the proposed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) claiming it was unethical and in contrast to the traditional norms adhered to by all the States and UTs of the Indian Union.
'The Union is of the opinion that the eligibility of any aspirants shall not be scrutinized based on their marks or academic records but on their performance in the much-hyped TET itself on merit basis,' said the CDSU in a statement even as it also questioned the motive behind setting up TET examinations centres only in the State capital whereas each and every district has their own ZEOs.
It has therefore requested the concern authority to look into the matter and review and rectify what it deems necessary after due consideration of all hues and cries arising out of it.
