Lanheiba Meitei reportedly arrested by Assam police

A top leader of the proscribed KCP-MC Lanheiba Meitei, wanted in connection with various subversive activities including triggering of a car bomb inside the Raj Bhavan, has been reportedly arrested by Assam police from Guwahati.
According to a reliable source, a team of Guwahati City Police arrested Lanheiba Meetei, who is a selfstyled secretary of Military Affairs, Military Council of the proscribed outfit, from a place known as Bishnu Rava Path Basistha in Guwahati at around 10 pm yesterday.
Lanheiba Meetei, whose real name is Khwairakpam Brojen alias Khelen (35) s/o Sangaijao is a resident of Keirenphabi Mayai Leikai, Bishnupur district.
At the time of his arrest, Assam police reportedly recovered one desk top set, 14 SIM cards, Bangladeshi currency notes, Rs 55,000 in Indian currency, seven mobile phone handsets, one pen drive and credit cards from his possession.
After being produced before a court in Guwahati, Lanheiba has been reportedly remanded to police custody for three days.
A team of Imphal West District Police is expected to be deputed to Guwahati tomorrow to bring him back to Imphal.
