Shortfalls of semester

Considering the apprehension of the students over the delay in declaration of the results of their Ist semester examination and the failure of providing the required mark sheets even after the declaration of the results, a day-long discussion session hosted jointly by DESAM and students' union of Imphal College has called upon the authorities of Manipur University to take up necessary measures so as not to jeopardise the career of the students.
The discussion session held under the theme of 'Problems and prospects of semester system in higher education of Manipur' in the seminar hall of Imphal College was attended by principal of the College Hamom Rameshchandra, Dean of Students' Welfare of the College L Randhoni and Prof W Nabakumar of Manipur University as presidium members.
Among other resolutions adopted at the end of the discussion session include inclusion of internal assessment in the present semester system of Manipur University, rectification of the ordinance of Manipur University to suit the interest of the students vis-a-vis the semester system being followed and to review the syllabus of the semester system to suit with the changing time.
