SCERT building inaugurated

Stating that the economic blockade stance of student organisations over TET exam centre demand is very unfortunate, Education Minister M Okendro has appealed all concerned to desist from sticking to any matter that is unfeasible.
The Minister was speaking at the inaugural function of Administrative Building and Multipurpose Hall of State Council of Educational Research and Training today at Lamphelpat.
Speaking as the chief guest of the inaugural function, Education Minister M Okendro said that even candidates from the State went to Guwahati to appear exams if called for.
He also called upon all organisations of the State to extend cooperation towards development of education.
He said that a higher secondary school each and Women's College each would be set up in all the hill districts while adding that the department is working towards the realisation of the provision included in the RTE Act that all children should be given compulsory education M Okendro said that SCERT has great role in shaping the students while adding that the department is like a mini-University.
The Minister also urged all concerned not to cause disturbances to the department.
Director of SCERT, N Debala, who attended the function as the president, said that all students could be shaped into a valuable citizen if the teachers are sincere.
She also dwelt on the need to provide adequate infrastructure to educational institutions.
The land for SCERT building, which was inaugurated today, has been acquired at the cost of Rs 3.84 crore at Lamphelpat.
Earlier, the SCERT office was attached within DM College campus.
The inaugural function was also attended by noted singer, B Jayentakumar and Engineer of Education Department, G Joychandra.
