Five Parliamentary Secretaries sworn in

Five Congress MLAs were today sworn in as Parliamentary Secretaries in the incumbent Government.
The swearing in ceremony was held in the Cabinet room at 11 am in the presence of Ministers, MLAs and media persons.
Chief Minister O Ibobi administered the oath of office and secrecy to the five newly appointed Parliamentary Secretaries.
The five Parliamentary Secretaries are K Meghachandra (Wangkhem AC), M Prithiviraj (Moirang AC), Victor Keishing (Phungyar AC), Vungzagin Valte (Thanlon AC) and Amin Shah (Kshetrigao AC) .
However, the Government has not yet issued any order regarding the departments which the Parliamentary Secretaries would assist.
Nonetheless, the Chief Minister has held meetings with senior Cabinet Ministers Th Debendra, Phungzathang Tonsing and Gaikhangam in this regard.

It is likely that the departments to which the Parliamentary Secretaries would assist may be declared tomorrow.
After the swearing in ceremony, the Chief Minister stated that some MLAs would be appointed as Chairmen of certain corporations very soon.
It is being speculated that K Meghachandra may be entrusted to assist the MI Department, M Prithiviraj Sports and Tourism, Victor Keishing TD and Hills, Amin Shah MOBC and DIPR and Vungzagin Valte Horticulture and CADA.
On the other hand, a Cabinet meeting presided by the Chief Minister this afternoon has resolved to upgrade 250 Primary Schools to the level of Upper Primary Schools.
Significantly Governor Gurbachan Jagat had returned the Ordinance for Parliament Secretaries when it was first forwarded to Raj Bhavan after a Cabinet meeting.
The consent was given later after the Governor had sought certain clarifications in the Ordinance submitted by the Government after which it was passed in the Assembly.
