The inaugural function of the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Manipur Regional Campus, would be held tomorrow at the auditorium of the Tribal Research Institute, Adimjati campus, Chingmeirong.
The inaugural plaque will be unveiled during the function, said a press release issued by IGNTU Vice-Chancellor Prof Chandra Deo Singh.
The inaugural function will be graced by Chief Minister O Ibobi as chief guest and Education Minister L Jayantakumar as president.
Works Minister K Ranjit, TD Minister DD Thaisii and MU Vice-Chancellor Prof C Amuba would also attend the function as guests of honour.
While the Government of Manipur is under process of land allotment and development of the IGNTU centre at Makhan village in Senapati district, special arrangement is being made for running the office of the University at Adimjati campus under some terms and conditions.
The process of opening classes in various disciplines are now gearing up starting with MPhil course in Political Science from the academic session 2009-10. Many other disciplines including job oriented courses, vocational courses and others skill development programmes would be opened very shortly, the VC said.
