The general assembly of Chilivai Naga Union (CNU) held at Kodom Khavii village on October 20 last has decided to socially boycott the three Phaibung villages indefinitely on different counts of anti-Union activities, a joint statement signed by CNU president Robin Soto and general secretary Ch Sekho Prou announced today.
The alleged anti-Union activities leading to the decision of socially boycotting three villages from the Union have been listed as shifting of SDO/BDO office site to 'Mazhailo' against the officially inspected and allocated site at 'Zhaiphao', unprecedented walk-outs from two consecutive general body assembly of CNU held at Kodom Khullen on November 30, 2008 and K Khullen from March 25 to 26, 2009, the resolution of the three villages in contravene to CNU office vide-Res no.1 and 2 dated 6/4/2009' violation of the norms and ethics by forcing some CNU executive to resign, non-co-operation launched by the three villages against CNU through non-payment of contributions towards the Union budget till date, default in intimation to the cnu vide-resolution no.4, 5 and 6 of the Union's general assembly dated September 15-16, 2009 held at Lakhamai, boycott and show cause notices to the members of the villages who attended the CNU's GBM on June 5, 2009 at Tusi-Ngani Khumai village, terming the activities of the Union as act of terrorism and hooligans with weapons through a local daily on its 8/8/2009 edition and campaigning against the unity of the Union and the propaganda of groupism in the Chilivai villages.
Asking all the societies/organisations which are availing the services or co-operation of groups of individuals from these three villages to abide by the boycott directives of CNU, the statement categorically announced that the Union shall be constraint to launch no-co-operation against those who still remain in good term with the individuals/groups/societies of these villages.
Furthermore, the Union has resolved not to co-operate with the societies/organisations which are availing the services/leadership of individuals/groups from the three villages and therefore, all the organisations have been requested to check and intimate the matter to the CNU office, the statement added.
