Active cases climb to 190

Imphal, April 17 2021:
The total number of COVID-19 active cases in the State has climbed to 190 after 39 persons including three personnel of CAPF were tested positive during the last 24 hours.
The new positive cases were detected at JNIMS, RIMS, Shija Hospital, Maipakpi Hospital, Babina Diagnostics, Escent Diagnostics, RD Wing, Advance Hospital, Raj Medicity, Bishnupur, Chandel and Kangpokpi.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, the 36 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (17), Imphal East (8), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (2), Tengnoupal (1), Churachandpur (1), Chandel (1) and Kangpokpi (1) .
On the other hand, 14 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (12) and CAPF (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,649 (general population 26,184 and Central security personnel 3,465) .
This figure includes 190 active cases (general population 169 and Central security personnel 21) and 29,083 recovered cases (general population 25,643 and Central security personnel 3,440) .
The death toll remains unchanged at 376 while the recovery rate has further slipped to 98.09 per cent.
Air passengers who came to the State on April 15 by Air India flight AI-713 in rows 3-9 have been informed to report to the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
As per latest information provided by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, 1,04,387 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the State.
Further, all persons above 45 years have been advised to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and select private hospitals.
