4 deaths, 113 new cases reported

Imphal, October 15 2021:
A day after the State saw fresh Covid cases come down to double digit (69) in 6 months and no fatality, at least 113 new Covid cases and 4 fatalities were reported from across Manipur in the last 24 hours.
The daily Covid positivity rate, though increased slightly as compared to 2.5 percent on Thursday, continued to remain below 5 percent for the second day in a row at 4.3 percent.
Notably, this is the third time in the month that the daily positive rate fell below 5 percent as it was also 4.3 percent as reported on October 7.Among the districts, Kamjong remains at the top of the table in terms of positivity rate for two days straight as 5 out of 43 samples tested in the last 24 hours returned positive.
The positivity rate thus registered for the hill district is 11.6 percent which, on a lighter note, is considerably lower than 30 percent updated yesterday.
According to COVID-19 Common Control Room, the 113 new Covid cases were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (11) and other testing centres (101) and are from Imphal East (26), Imphal West (63), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (3), Kangpokpi (1) and Kamjong (5) .
The 4 Covid deaths reported in the last 24 hours were from Imphal West (2), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
With this addition, the death toll has mounted to 1893.According to the Government bulletin, only 1 from among the 4 deceased were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 while 3 of them had co-morbidities.
District-wise, Imphal West and Imphal East contributed the maximum number of Covid deaths in Manipur with 631 and 446 fatalities reported so far respectively while Pherzawl is at the bottom of the table with zero deaths.
Today, another 109 persons were discharged from Home Isolation (32), JNIMS (17), CCCs (58) and CCCs (1) .
The cumulative figure of COVID and active cases, on the other hand , stand at 1,22,545 and 1,444 respectively with the addition of 113 new cases in the last 24 hours while the recovery rate remains at 97.28 percent, according to the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
951 D type and 157 B type oxygen cylinders were distributed to different health facilities in Manipur on October 14 and 8580 Covid vaccine doses were administered on the same day.
So far, the State has administered 1809538 Covid vaccine doses.
As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, COVID-19 beds available at different health care centres are RIMS (general beds 215; ICU/HDU beds 28), JNIMS (general beds 66; ICU/HDU beds 0), Iboyaima Hospital (general beds 25; ICU/HDU beds 5), Jivan Hospital (general beds 20; ICU/HDU beds 5), Shija Hospital (general beds 47; ICU/HDU beds 33) and Raj Medicity (general beds 81; ICU/HDU beds 23) .
